About Us:

Thank you for visiting our site. My name is Tara Powell and I
wanted to take a moment and tell you about us and Carolina Yard
Barns, LLC.

My husband Rob and I opened Carolina Yard Barns in September
2005 after seeing a growing need for high quality sheds in the
Raleigh area. Rob graduated with a business degree from
Mississippi State University and then relocated to the Raleigh area
with me in 1992. Rob began framing custom homes in North
Raleigh but then decided it was time for a change and began
working for a nationwide shed company. Rob built sheds for this
company from 1997 until 2005. When this company drastically
changed the product they were selling to the public, Rob decided
it was time to get out on his own and give the public the
opportunity to buy high quality sheds at a reasonable rate. And
Carolina Yard Barns was born!

At Carolina Yard Barns, our philosophy is that we are going to
build you a shed that will give you the extra storage space that
you need and that is will last for many, many years. We can help
you create a shed to meet strict HOA guidelines or a shed that
will match the structure of your home. We offer a wide variety of
styles, sizes, options, siding choices and we can help you custom
create a shed if we don't have a model that suits your personal
needs. We strive to put customer service and satisfaction as our
top priorities and have many satisfied customers throughout the
Triangle. We consider ourselves Wake Counties #1 shed builder
because we  pulled more permits in Wake County in 2007 than
any other shed builder in the area.

We are members of the Knightdale Chamber of Commerce and
members of the Raleigh-Wake County Home Builders Association.
On a personal level we are very active in the community. Rob has
coached many youth soccer teams and Tara has been a Girl Scout
leader for many years. We don't just work in the community but
we live here as well.

2008 is shaping up to be a very exciting year for us. We are in the
process of opening our first retail location in early February. At
this location, it is our plan to have the largest shed display lot in
